LakeSentry Settings for Databricks Cost Management
Settings is available to admins and owners. It combines tenant-level administration with connector and billing configuration.
General
Section titled “General”Organization-level settings: the display currency and the Working hours that Databricks Apps off-hours analysis uses.
Connector
Section titled “Connector”Configure Databricks connectors, review credential validation, inspect extraction runs, and manage the Data Sync schedule. Direct Connection is the self-service setup path. External Connector options appear only when LakeSentry support enabled them.
Workspaces
Section titled “Workspaces”Review Databricks workspaces discovered through the connector. Workspace labels can be customized for easier reporting. Set a working-hours override for a workspace when its schedule differs from the organization default.
Pricing
Section titled “Pricing”Manage DBU and cloud price overrides when your contracted rates differ from default list-price data. Pricing affects displayed cost and savings estimates.
Access
Section titled “Access”Manage users, invitations, and role assignments, plus the SSO access policy and access requests when single sign-on is enabled.
Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”Manage organization notification recipients and defaults. Owners also manage delivery channels. Personal preferences are under Profile → Notifications. See Webhooks & Notifications for roles, plan eligibility, and delivery behavior.
Configure single sign-on with your identity provider — provider selection, issuer, credentials, and allowed domains. Databricks App deployments do not have this tab, because Databricks handles sign-in.
Billing
Section titled “Billing”Review plan, seat, trial, and checkout state where billing is enabled.
Exports
Section titled “Exports”Export cost data in the FinOps FOCUS format:
- FOCUS Export — Download a report for a period. Choose the output format and set the organization’s default FOCUS version. The available formats depend on the deployment.
- Scheduled deliveries — Deliver the report to a cloud storage destination on a weekly, monthly, or custom schedule.
- Destinations — Configure the external storage that receives scheduled deliveries.
The tab lists the LakeSentry extension columns. The cloud cost estimate is a separate column and is not part of BilledCost.
Display preferences
Section titled “Display preferences”Users can choose theme and cost display mode where plan and data availability allow it:
- Total: Databricks plus cloud cost.
- Databricks Only: Databricks usage cost.
- Cloud Only: underlying infrastructure estimate when available.
- Breakdown: Databricks and cloud components displayed separately.
Exchange rates
Section titled “Exchange rates”If currency conversion is enabled, monthly exchange rates are used for display. The source cost model remains based on the collected billing and price data.
